Steptoe partner Jay Nuttall was quoted in an IPPro Life Sciences article titled “Hound Dogs: On the Trail of Medical Technology.” The article, published in the magazine’s 2015 conference edition, discusses the growth of patent assertion entities (PAEs) in the medical device industry.
As a patent litigator, Mr. Nuttall says there has been an increase in patent applications filed and granted in this field, contributing to the boom in PAE business. “We’ve seen individual inventors up to the largest players in the medical device space sell IP rights to PAEs”
