Thomson Reuters’ Legal Executive Institute quoted Alan Cohn in an article titled “Is Bitcoin a Currency, a Security, or a Commodity? It’s Complicated.” The article, published June 7, covers the Regulation of Financial Services 2018 conference in New York where Cohn participated in the “Examining Banking Modernization and Global Regulation of Virtual Currencies” panel.
During the panel, Cohn said he believes that US regulators need to reach an integrated viewpoint about virtual currencies as other counties such as Singapore and Switzerland already have done. “We have a new asset class now and a new opportunity to come to some integration,” he added.
