Philip Woolfson and Alexander Hamels co-authored an article titled "Legal Focus: Belgium Brings in Local MGAs Through New Law" for Insurance Day. The April 17 article discusses the Brexit-inspired introduction into Belgian law of a new category of intermediary, the Belgian equivalent of UK-style "managing general agents" (MGAs), and notes that UK MGAs will not be able to conclude insurance distribution contracts in Belgium as a result of the new legislation.
