Overview
Steptoe’s arbitration win for diamond and real estate magnate Lev Leviev’s company, LGC USA Holdings Inc., over a dispute with LGC’s former business partner Julius Klein Diamonds LLC, was covered by numerous media outlets including Law360, The New York Law Journal, Reuters, Women's Wear Daily, and Jewish Business News.
On February 16, a judge for the US District Court for the Southern District of New York confirmed an arbitration award reportedly more than $100 million to LGC USA Holdings. The opinion granting LGC’s petition to confirm the arbitration award was issued under seal “out of an abundance of caution” because it refers to sealed and redacted information, according to the order.
The Steptoe arbitration litigation team was led by New York partner Charles Michael, with assistance from Aaron Nocjar, Michael Baratz, Lauren Azebu, and Carina Federico in Washington, DC, and Seth Sias in Palo Alto.
