Overview
Steptoe’s Guy Soussan co-authored an article titled “Navigating EU and US Financial Sanctions: Balancing Risk and Reward in Cross-Border Transactions” for the Belgian Banking and Financial Law Review. The article, published in the second edition of 2017, describes the legal foundation of EU sanctions and the types of sanctions the EU may impose, as well as a similar analysis of US sanctions, which can be applicable to EU financial institutions to the extent they engage in transactions with a potential nexus with the United States.
