Politico Pro quoted Hunter Johnston in a February 26 article titled “New Carbon Capture Tax Credit Sparks Hope Among Odd Collection of Backers.” The article discusses how a surprise victory for a carbon capture and sequestration tax credit in the budget package has spawned optimism among its coalition of backers that they can make a technological leap in the fight against climate change.
Mr. Johnston says companies would still need to create additional financial tools to take advantage of the credit. "How are you going to actually monetize this and how is this going to actually work in real projects? It's not a slam dunk even with the tax credit," he adds.
