Overview
(June 11, 2026, Washington, DC) — Steptoe LLP has named Amy Lentz leader of the firm's International Disputes practice. A widely respected practitioner in international law, Amy brings decades of experience representing sovereign governments and private sector clients in some of the world's most complex and high‑profile trade disputes.
Amy represents sovereign and private sector clients in complex international disputes involving US agencies, including before the US Department of Commerce and US International Trade Commission, as well as in binational disputes under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. For the past 10 years, she has represented the Canadian softwood lumber industry in all aspects of the decades‑old dispute over imports of lumber from Canada—widely regarded as one of the most complex and enduring international disputes litigated between Canada and the United States. Amy is well known within the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement system as well, litigating international trade disputes between sovereign states before dispute settlement panels and the WTO Appellate Body.
"I'm excited to lead Steptoe's International Disputes practice at a time when cross-border conflicts and enforcement actions are more consequential than ever," Amy said. "Steptoe has a long‑standing reputation for excellence in international dispute resolution, and I look forward to growing our team to continue to deliver strategic, effective advocacy for our clients around the world."
Steptoe's International Disputes practice is recognized for its deep experience in complex cross-border dispute resolution, international arbitration, and public international law matters. Enforcing and collecting on judgments won through hard-fought arbitration and litigation is also a particular strength, and the group's judgment enforcement and asset recovery practice is among the most highly regarded in the world.
