Overview
The Advocate quoted Hunter Johnston in a May 28 article titled "How Sucking Carbon Out of the Process and Storing Deep Underground May be a Reality in Louisiana." The article discusses the renewed national focus on reducing carbon pollution and how Louisiana businesses are searching for ways to capture and permanently store the emissions in deep underground saltwater aquifers, known as "carbon capture and sequestration."
Johnston says "storing carbon in the ground is very well proven," adding "that’s why Louisiana has an oil industry because carbon has been stored in the subsurface."
