Michael J. Allan is special counsel in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he is a member of the Intellectual Property group and Litigation Department. Mr. Allan concentrates his practice on complex litigation, with a particular emphasis on issues involving intellectual property.

Mr. Allan has successfully litigated numerous intellectual property cases on behalf of his clients in state and federal courts throughout the country. He has also successfully resolved many matters through alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. Mr. Allan’s intellectual property litigation experience involves the prosecution and defense of trademark, trade dress and patent infringement, trade secret, unfair competition, and false advertising claims.

Mr. Allan also has extensive litigation and trial experience in a variety of disciplines and industries. He has represented clients in the pharmaceutical, insurance, textile, and software industries on a variety of matters involving antitrust, product liability, breach of contract, fraud, and employment issues.
