The leader of Steptoe’s global Chemical Regulatory, Environment, and Life Sciences practice, Seth Goldberg’s personal practice focuses on serving client needs in chemical regulation and environmental regulation. 

Mr. Goldberg’s chemical regulatory practice is centered on FIFRA and TSCA in the US, biocides, plant protection products and general chemical regulation (REACH) in the EU and similar programs in China.  He provides impactful strategic advice and innovative issue resolution to corporate and trade association clients.  Mr. Goldberg’s environmental practice encompasses water and waste regulation and environmental remediation, as well as regulatory and allocation issues arising out of contaminated properties.  He also has an active litigation practice throughout the United States related to these substantive issues.  Mr. Goldberg has been lead counsel in administrative, trial, and appellate court proceedings, including representing his clients in district court concerning the reviewability of FIFRA registration actions by the EPA regarding compliance with the ESA.   

Mr. Goldberg’s focus on administrative law is reflected in his service as the President of the American Inn of Court focused on administrative law issues, the Prettyman-Leventhal American Inn of Court, based in Washington DC.  He also served on the Board of Trustees of the American Inns of Court Foundation, which charters all American Inns of Court, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing civility and professionalism among lawyers in the US.

Mr. Goldberg also handles matters involving product regulation, federalism issues and state programs, and international coordination of chemical control regimes.
