On April 2, The White House announced the imposition of a 10% baseline tariff on all imports to the United States that will go into effect on April 5 and reciprocal tariffs ranging from 10-50% on several US trading partners that will go into effect on April 9. The announcement follows additional tariffs imposed over the last month on steel and aluminum and their derivatives and automobiles and automobile parts, as well as further investigations initiated against imports of lumber and copper.
