Overview
Named a 2021 Rising Star in Telecommunications by Law360, and a 2023 "Up and Coming" attorney in Telecom, Broadcast & Satellite by Chambers, Andrew Golodny advises traditional and new media companies on complex and novel issues in the telecom and media industries. He has experience in a wide variety of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proceedings, including rulemakings, mergers, licensing, and compliance matters. He is particularly known for his work on telecommunications transaction reviews before the DOJ and FCC. Andrew has significant experience with large electronic discovery and government investigations. He led a large team of attorneys in successfully defending a group of state attorneys general suing to prevent the entry of his client DISH Network as a new nationwide wireless carrier.
Andrew is also well-versed in international telecom regulation, counseling clients on advanced telecom issues such as infrastructure deployments, satellite, and internet matters before local regulators in Europe, Africa, and Asia. He also served on a small trial team which represented an internet service provider's anti-spam complaint in federal court.
Andrew participates in the firm's pro bono program. He has worked on immigration matters, including a political asylum case from the Congo, and successfully secured asylum for a victim of domestic violence from Honduras.

- New York v. Deutsche Telekom: represented DISH Network in successfully defending proposed merger of T-Mobile and Sprint as conditioned on entry of DISH as new wireless carrier.
- FTC v. Western Union: Represented Western Union in multi-year investigation by the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection into adequacy of client's global anti-fraud program.
- Merger of Charter Communications & Time Warner Cable: represented parties opposing merger before DOJ and FCC and led team reviewing documents of merging parties.
- Merger of Sinclair Broadcasting & Tribune Media Company: represented party opposing merger, which was successfully blocked by regulators.
- Beyond Systems v. Kraft Foods: part of small team which litigated one of the first email spam cases to proceed to a jury trial.
- US v. AT&T: Represented third party in DOJ bench trial suing to block AT&T/Time Warner merger.
- Managed the second request document collection process for a technology company merger worth almost $2 billion.
- Responded to a congressional investigation into the cable and satellite TV industry.
- Represented online ticketing company in various regulatory matters.
