Overview
Betsy Zyrkowski represents clients in complex commercial litigation in both state and federal court, including multi-district and appellate proceedings, and pre-litigation negotiations and investigations. Her experience spans a broad range of subject matters, including nationwide opioid litigation, consumer fraud, conversion, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract actions, and real estate transactions. Commonly representing plaintiffs and defendants in civil actions, Betsy also represents criminal defendants in matters related to federal and state bribery, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the False Claims Act (FCA), fraud, and more.
Betsy has experience in all phases of litigation, but recognizes that her clients’ interests are not always best served in the courtroom. She strives to develop efficient and creative strategies to advance her clients’ goals and has obtained favorable results through pre-filing negotiations and settlement negotiations.
Betsy is conversationally fluent in French and has used her second language skills to help her clients navigate cross-border litigation and transactions. As part of her pro bono practice, Betsy is a certified mediator through the Chicago Center for Conflict Resolution and regularly mediates cases in small claims court.
