Overview
Caitlin Ames' practice focuses on assisting transportation clients with regulatory and litigation matters. On the regulatory side, Caitlin advises clients in matters involving the Pipeline and Hazardous Safety Administration, the Surface Transportation Board, and the Environmental Protection Agency, including matters involving the Clean Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and National Historic Preservation Act.
Caitlin also has experience litigating cases at all stages from complaint to trial and appeal. Her recent work has included being part of a Steptoe trial team that obtained a $170+ million judgment on behalf of the operator of a crude-by-rail transloading facility for fraudulent transfer claims related to a take-or-pay contract.
Prior to joining Steptoe, Caitlin was a law clerk for the Honorable Peter J. Phipps of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
