Steptoe Attorneys Named to 2025 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll

Overview

(April 29, 2026, Washington, DC) – Steptoe LLP is pleased to announce that 91 of the firm's attorneys have been listed on the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll. Additionally, 61 of those attorneys are listed on the High Honor Roll. The Honor Roll recognizes the contributions of DC Bar members and others authorized to perform pro bono legal work who completed 50 hours or more of pro bono service during the previous calendar year. Those who performed 100 hours or more of pro bono work in 2025 are included in the High Honor Roll.

The 2025 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll honorees represent more than 180 law firms, solo practices, federal and local government agencies, corporations, associations, and public interest organizations. Last year, a record-breaking 6,052 attorneys registered for the Honor Roll. Moreover, 57% of the registrants completed 100 or more hours of pro bono service, thus qualifying for the High Honor Roll. Overall, this represents over 475,350 hours of legal work.

In a joint letter to the honorees, Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby of the DC Court of Appeals and Chief Judge Milton C. Lee, Jr., of the DC Superior Court wrote, "Pro bono service changes individual lives, strengthens families and communities, protects fundamental rights, and reinforces public trust in our legal system. Whether assisting clients facing urgent legal challenges, supporting community organizations and small businesses, or contributing to systemic reform efforts, your work has a lasting and profound impact. Your dedication of time, expertise, and resources to individuals and communities who would otherwise go without legal representation reflects the highest ideals of the legal profession."
