Emma Marshak

Emma Marshak is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on judgment enforcement and complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. She represents clients in high-stakes disputes involving the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA), contract claims, fraudulent transfers, corporate separateness and veil piercing, class actions, restrictive covenants, and other complex commercial issues. Emma handles matters at every stage of litigation, including fast-moving discovery, dispositive motions, depositions, hearings, trial, mediation, and post-judgment proceedings.

Emma’s domestic and international judgment enforcement experience includes representing judgment creditors in FSIA cases against Venezuela and in Helms-Burton Act cases against Cuba, as well as securing a first-of-its-kind reverse veil-piercing ruling in Delaware Chancery Court.

Emma maintains an active pro bono practice, including civil rights and immigration matters. She is involved in the leadership of the DC Chapter of the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law.
