Peyton Thomas

Peyton litigates commercial disputes in federal and state courts, with experience across all phases of litigation, from pre-filing strategy through trial. She recently argued a dispositive motion in federal court.

In addition to her litigation practice, Peyton advises clients on telecommunications, technology, and antitrust regulatory matters before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Justice (DOJ), including rulemakings, licensing, merger review, and regulatory compliance. She was part of a Steptoe team that secured dismissal of the DOJ’s challenge to a travel industry merger and advised a telecom client on multibillion-dollar spectrum transactions.

Peyton is a member of Steptoe's interdisciplinary artificial intelligence (AI) team, where she contributes to matters involving emerging technologies and initiatives supporting AI adoption within the firm and for clients. Her work includes tracking developments in AI litigation, regulation, and governance. 

While at Vanderbilt Law School, Peyton was active in the Black Law Students Association, Women Law Students Association, and the Entertainment & Sports Law Society. She is a member of the American Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar, and Federal Communications Bar Association.
