Overview
Letizia Busso focuses her practice on international investment and commercial arbitration, and public international law. She has experience with arbitrations arising under the rules of, among others, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
Prior to joining Steptoe, Letizia has worked at leading law firms in Italy, the Netherlands and the UK.
Letizia coaches teams and arbitrates for various arbitration moot courts, and is an active member of Africa in the Moot. She is also involved in the Young Institute for Transnational Arbitration’s Mentorship Program.

- Acts for the investors in respect of a dispute concerning a resort arising from alleged breaches of two bilateral investment treaties by Tanzania. Brian Thomson & Pennyroyal Limited v The United Republic of Tanzania. ICSID Arbitration. ICSID Case No. ARB/23/26. Ongoing.
- Acted for the investors (until April 2024) in an ongoing NAFTA Chapter Eleven arbitration involving undue political interference in the environmental approval process for an LNG liquefaction facility and related pipeline.
