Overview
Matthew Friedman advises telecommunications and technology companies on a variety of regulatory, policy, transactional, and litigation matters before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Department of Justice (DOJ), Congress, and the courts. Matthew's clients include satellite operators, broadcast and cable networks, "over-the-top" streaming providers, leading Internet platforms, wireless and wireline carriers, and broadband internet providers. He focuses his practice on regulatory rulemakings and adjudications, FCC and NOAA license applications and amendments, appellate and trial court litigation, drafting master service and technology transaction agreements, working with foreign counsel across the globe to advise on international regulatory requirements, and developing regulatory compliance programs in response to new laws and regulations.
Matthew also maintains an active pro bono practice, including serving on the firm's Pro Bono committee. Recently, he counseled a nonprofit client on the use of electronic and voice signatures for SNAP benefit/food stamp applications. Additionally, he represented clients in their appeals of disability benefit denials by the Social Security Administration.
