Overview
(September 11, 2023, New York) – Andrew Adams spoke to The Wall Street Journal about his former role as the head of the Department of Justice's KleptoCapture task force and about joining Steptoe. Additional publications that covered his move include: Bloomberg Law, Law360, The National Law Journal, and Reuters.
On the topic of sanctions in the context of the KleptoCapture task force, Adams told The Wall Street Journal: "One justification for sanctions—leaving aside enforcement of the sanctions and just focusing on the imposition of the sanctions—is to bring about a change of behavior. That is core to the project, and could potentially take the form of cooperation."
Speaking about the work he plans to do at Steptoe in an interview with Reuters, Adams said: "A lot of what I hope to do is to be able to talk to people and corporations about the risks that are out there in the world and assist them in thinking through transactions and the risks associated with those transactions."
