Policy makers in Japan voiced their support of the EU's goal to rein in China's growing influence, saying it also mirrors domestic concerns.
Takahashi says: "In Japan, subsidies tend to be regarded as positive, whereas the EU has concerns that unregulated foreign subsidies may distort fair competition in the single market under its state-aid rules. Japanese companies should be aware of this."
