Overview
(January 4, 2024, New York) – Steptoe LLP announced a lawsuit brought in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York by the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) and Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella, along with a number of individual plaintiffs, challenging the sufficiency of the environmental review undertaken by federal and state agencies to approve a congestion pricing program. This is the second lawsuit we recently commenced on behalf of the UFT, the prior one brought in NY State Supreme Court challenging NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ cuts to the NYC Department of Education budget as violative of NY Education Law statutory protections.
The Steptoe team is led by partners Alan Klinger and Dina Kolker with of counsel Dave Kahne, and associate Steven Kaplan.
