Overview
(September 4, 2026, Chicago) – A Steptoe team, along with their co-counsel at Covington & Burling, has been recognized as the first runner-up in The AmLaw Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for securing a full defense verdict for Mead Johnson, the maker of Enfamil infant formula. The first bellwether trial to reach a jury verdict in the federal multidistrict litigation (MDL), Steptoe and co-counsel fought against claims that the cow's milk-based formula was linked to necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in infants. The win offers a significant signal for the hundreds of remaining bellwether and MDL cases.
