Doug Green is a partner in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP. He handles major matters in the fields of electric power, antitrust and commercial litigation.

Mr. Green’s electric power practice covers a broad spectrum of matters affecting the industry, including mergers, joint venture transactions, restructuring, market power issues, and antitrust litigation. Mr. Green has played a leading role in a number of the most important cases in the industry before the FERC, the federal antitrust enforcement agencies, state regulatory commissions, federal and state courts, and other forums. 

Mr. Green’s litigation practice involves a wide range of complex civil matters, including breach of contract and fraud; power plant construction, sale and operation; toxic torts; RICO; and antitrust. For example, he represents Edison Mission Marketing & Trading in class action litigation in federal district court involving allegations that the September 2006 Illinois electricity auction was affected  by collusion among the bidders. Mr. Green also is representing E.I. du Pont de Nemours in class action litigation involving medical monitoring and personal injury claims stemming from the use of ammonium perfluorooctanoate in the manufacture of Teflon® at DuPont’s Washington Works plant in West Virginia. Mr. Green has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution, including serving as lead trial counsel for plaintiffs in the litigation over the shutdown of the Peach Bottom Nuclear plant, one of the largest awards ever obtained via an ADR mini-trial.
