Overview
Nate Sans focuses his practice on federal and state regulation of financial services, markets, and market intermediaries, covering a range of traditional and nontraditional financial products. His practice involves helping clients navigate complex matters under federal and state law, including the Dodd-Frank Act, the Commodity Exchange Act, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and the Truth in Lending Act. He also has experience in Commodity Futures Trading Commission enforcement litigation and white-collar criminal defense.
While attending law school, Nate served as an extern for a major publishing firm. Since joining Steptoe, he has continued his work for creative communities by supporting writers through the firm's pro bono program. He has also prepared pro bono estate-planning documents for residents of Washington, DC.
Nate graduated from Columbia Law School, where he was the Executive Production Editor of the Columbia Journal of Law & the Arts and a Co-Head Writer for the Columbia Law Revue comedy group.
