Overview
Paul Stancil is an experienced trial lawyer and a thoughtful and creative legal strategist committed to achieving the best possible net result for his clients. Paul approaches each case and each client with care; he focuses first on understanding each client’s unique business goals, and then combines his comprehensive understanding of those goals with his deep knowledge of the law and litigation to develop winning strategies and compelling trial stories.
Paul has deep experience in complex litigation and all aspects of antitrust practice. His broad range of experience includes representation of both defendants and plaintiffs in high-stakes antitrust, intellectual property, and other commercial litigation matters, along with significant engagements handling bet-the-company government investigations.
Paul has a strong background in the energy industry, having represented virtually every type of energy business from traditional oil and gas and petrochemical companies to large electric utilities to startup solar- and wind-based alternative energy producers. Paul has also worked extensively in the health care, software, and e-commerce industries, and his innate curiosity and strong technical capability give him a significant advantage in working through all types of complex factual and legal problems.
Paul is particularly drawn to the challenges inherent in explaining technically complicated subject matter to judges and juries, and his academic background gives him unique and valuable insight into working with—and against—expert witnesses. Many litigation stories are complicated; Paul specializes in identifying the most effective ways to tell those stories to the people who matter.
