Overview
Tara Woods focuses her practice on transportation, encompassing rail, aviation, motor carriers, and autonomous vehicles. Her practice includes advising prominent rail clients on transportation matters before the Surface Transportation Board (STB); matters involving National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigations and accident response; Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) corporate investigations and due diligence; and matters concerning commercial motor vehicle operators in proceedings relating to vehicle safety before the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and vehicle equipment manufacturers and others before the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on issues pertaining to vehicle and equipment safety and design.
Additionally, she has experience assisting government contractors with compliance issues and bid protests.
Tara also serves on the Association of Transportation Law Professionals' Young Professionals Committee as well as the DC Appleseed Emerging Leaders Network Committee. She has also assisted with several pro bono immigration cases. Prior to graduating from law school, Tara worked as a paralegal at Steptoe for five years.
