Global Investigations Review quoted Zoe Osborne in an October 23 article titled "New SFO Guidance Clears Up Point on Self-Reporting." The article discusses newly released guidance from the UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) on how quickly companies should self-report possible misconduct to be eligible for a corporate settlement.
Osborne says that the guidance could have been more detailed and clearer. "There is a lot of wriggle room in how the guidance is applied. I welcome any attempt to make things more transparent, but it does feel a little like a wasted opportunity," she says.
