Overview
Global Investigations Review quoted Zoe Osborne in a March 31 article titled "CPS Pushes for Economic Crime Court in New Strategy." The article discusses the five-year plan, published by the UK's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), to tackle economic crime in response to growing levels of financial wrongdoing in the country.
Osborne says that the involvement of other enforcement agencies in the CPS's plans might be a further attempt to cushion the future merging of some of them. "Over the past six months or so, we have heard a lot about how domestic law enforcement agencies are working together," she says. "There remains a question for me as to whether this is being done to ensure that economic crime is being properly investigated and prosecuted, or whether it's being done to cut costs."
