Law360 quoted Zoe Osborne in a December 22 article titled "The Biggest Corporate Crime Decisions in 2021." The article discusses some of the biggest corporate crime cases in English courts in 2021.
With regard to the fine NatWest paid in December after becoming the first lender to plead guilty to criminal charges for violating anti-money laundering laws, Osborne told Law360, "The FCA [Financial Conduct Authority] has been threatening to flex their criminal muscles for a long time, and they have now…. The facts in that case were so egregious it's like shooting fish in a barrel, and it is unlikely the FCA will pursue loads more."
