Overview
Drew Harris represents individual and corporate clients at all stages of criminal and regulatory investigations and enforcement, and in internal investigations. Drew has tried multiple cases and has experience arguing motions and examining witnesses in federal court. Drew also has substantial experience with pre-litigation matters, including preparing and delivering presentations to government agencies, preparing witnesses for testimony and interviews, and responding to subpoenas and other requests for documents and information, and with internal investigations. He also has significant civil litigation experience, including a multiweek $1.5 billion trial in federal bankruptcy court in Manhattan.
Drew has participated in successful representations in matters involving the US Department of Justice, the US Securities and Exchange Commission, state attorneys general, and FINRA, on behalf of clients across various industries, including manufacturing, finance, energy, cryptocurrency, services, automotive, and technology.
Drew is actively involved in Steptoe’s pro bono program.

Successfully secured a complete defense acquittal for former Autonomy CEO Mike Lynch in a 13-year US federal criminal securities and accounting fraud case. The case relates to HP's $11-billion acquisition of Autonomy in 2011.
- Lead associate and third-chair attorney defending physician in federal trial based on allegations of fraud in connection with bills submitted to Medicare and Medicaid
- Obtained partial acquittal at trial
- Successfully defended cryptomining CEO in multifaceted investigation by FINRA
- Successfully defended college professor targeted by DOJ “China Initiative”
- Obtained declination from DOJ on behalf of publicly traded chemical company following multi-year grand jury investigation focused on potential violations of the Clean Water Act
