Overview
Matt Carmody advises clients on corporate, litigation, and reorganization and bankruptcy matters. He represents debtors, creditors, distressed companies, lenders, agents, and shareholders in all facets of the restructuring and reorganization process including Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganizations and out-of-court debt restructurings. Matt represents domestic and international clients in a variety of industries, including entertainment, financial services, healthcare, real estate, restaurant and hospitality, sporting goods, telecommunications, and transportation.
Matt also advises clients on corporate transactional matters, including real estate transactions, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. He has experience negotiating licensing, supply, and services agreements in the media and entertainment sector.
Prior to moving to the United States, Matt practiced at one of Australia's leading law firms, specializing in corporate restructuring and insolvency and commercial litigation. Matt advised on all aspects (both contentious and non-contentious) of informal and formal insolvency and restructuring processes, and on transactions involving corporate disputes or financial distress. He also advised Australian clients on intellectual property matters, privacy law compliance, and corporate investigations.
