Overview
HBW Insight quoted Dennis Raglin throughout a February 9 article titled "California's Prop 65 Short-Form Warning Changes Are Costly, Confusing And Quick – Lawyer." The article discusses the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment’s proposed rulemaking to amend the current Prop 65 "short-form" warnings rule and its impact on marketers and retailers.
Raglin says the proposal to limit the products eligible to use a short-form Proposition 65 warning and modify those warning statements places undue burdens and costs on companies while only confusing consumers. "It's a surgical precision it seems to me by this agency in afflicting regulation that burdens businesses and that ends up costing more money. They can make these regulations that to them sound reasonable, but in the real world it is difficult and a year is not enough time to get all of that together and be able to get these new warnings on" products.
