Overview
(July 28, 2023, Washington, DC) – A number of media outlets published articles regarding the recent expansion of Steptoe's financial services, and insurance and reinsurance practices. The outlets include The American Lawyer, Reuters, and Law360. On July 26, Steptoe announced the arrival of 35 new attorneys and business professionals across our Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles offices. The group includes litigation leaders Michele Jacobson, Bob Lewin, Julia Strickland, Steve Newman, Chris Fredrich and Andy Owens.
The American Lawyer was the first to report on the expansion after speaking with chair Gwen Renigar and the incoming partners. The article stated: "Steptoe confirmed the moves on Wednesday, in a major expansion of its regulatory enforcement, litigation and investigations practices. In an interview, Steptoe chair Gwen Renigar said the group hire was part of a longer-term plan for growth in these areas and the firm is still pushing forward on that strategy."
In a statement to Law360, partner Julia Strickland said the following in regards to Steptoe's reputation: "I have also been impressed with its leadership, steady growth and strong financial performance.
