Shannon Reid

Shannon Reid is a member of Steptoe’s Commercial Trials & Litigation group, where her practice includes complex commercial litigation, data privacy, and employment matters.

Shannon counsels and defends corporate entities in breach of contract, product liability, and mass tort matters. Shannon also advises clients on compliance with various data privacy and cybersecurity laws, including but not limited to, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), and the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).

In addition, Shannon represents clients in labor and employment litigation, including but not limited to, discrimination, retaliation, and harassment claims in administrative, state, and federal courts. Shannon also advises educational institutions on a variety of legal matters, including employment and data privacy issues and internal investigations.

Prior to joining Steptoe, Shannon clerked for the Honorable Raymond A. Jackson in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

During law school, Shannon represented minor clients in Pennsylvania state family court for dependency and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS).
