Overview
Hafsa Tout focuses her practice on complex commercial and consumer litigation, including real estate disputes, consumer privacy, arbitration, and class action defense. She represents a wide range of clients across industries including real estate, healthcare, consumer products, media and entertainment, and retail and hospitality.
Hafsa has experience with fact development, complex discovery disputes, managing subpoena compliance, witness and expert preparation, motion practice, and all phases of trial preparation. She maintains an active pro bono practice, and has secured motions to dismiss for low-income tenants in eviction defense; assisted long-term prisoners in applications for probation; counseled clients on § 1983 claims; and defended clients facing deportation in immigration proceedings.
While in law school, Hafsa served as a student attorney in the workers' rights clinic and the community enterprise clinic advising local start-up businesses in the metro Detroit area.

- Representing developer in litigation involving challenges to municipal land use and zoning ordinances.
- Negotiated settlement on behalf of financial technology company in individual consumer action alleging negligence and violations of the Uniform Commercial Code.
