Overview
Mahogane Reed focuses her practice on white-collar defense, investigations, complex litigation, and appeals. Mahogane's experience endows her with a deep understanding of the law and legal process. Mahogane has extensive experience managing all phases of litigation in complex matters in state and federal courts across the country. Mahogane also has significant experience in appellate practice. She has handled dozens of appeals in different appellate postures spanning a range of issues in the US Supreme Court, state supreme courts, and nearly every federal court of appeals.
Before joining the firm, Mahogane worked at the US Department of Justice, where she handled criminal appeals in federal circuit courts across the country. In that role, Mahogane helped devise the government’s positions in cutting-edge constitutional litigation and advised US Attorneys' Offices across the country on a variety of complex legal issues. In recognition of her work, Mahogane received the Assistant Attorney General's Award for Outstanding Contributions by a New Employee in 2024, and the Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service in 2025.
Mahogane previously served as the John Payton Appellate and Supreme Court Advocacy Fellow at the Legal Defense Fund. Mahogane is an adjunct professor at the Georgetown Law Center, where she teaches advanced legal writing.
