Overview
Katherine Kyriakoudes is an associate in the Government Affairs & Public Policy (GAPP) group, where she advises clients on federal, state, and local lobbying, campaign finance, pay‑to‑play, and government ethics laws. Her practice includes counseling on complex questions arising under the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) and the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). Katherine also supports clients on legislative and regulatory matters affecting the insurance industry and monitors evolving federal and state developments related to privacy, artificial intelligence regulation, and emerging state‑level FARA‑style requirements.
Before joining Steptoe, Katherine served as a legal intern for the Federal Election Commission (FEC), where she drafted ballot recommendations and provided guidance on voting matters. She previously worked as a law clerk at the League of Conservation Voters, conducting research on state election laws, campaign finance rules, and gift ethics regulations.
Katherine received her J.D., summa cum laude, from the American University Washington College of Law, where she served as a senior staff member for the American University Law Review and worked as a student attorney in the Re-Entry & Decarceration Clinic. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
