Overview
John Geilman focuses his practice in commercial disputes, health care, and higher education. John has experience in both state and federal courts at the trial level, including before the Texas Business Court, and has worked on state court appeals.
While in law school, John interned for the school's Office of General Counsel. Following graduation, John clerked for Chief Judge David Nye of the federal District of Idaho and worked on a variety of civil and criminal matters, including contract disputes, administrative law, insurance claims, and Section 1983 cases.

- Successfully defended university against breach of contract claim brought by a student regarding academic conduct.
- Represented horizontal developer and its affiliates in litigation over property rights related to the construction of data centers and secured a judgment for the developer.
- Secured multiple successful judgments for a client in the financial sector at the summary judgment stage, defeating claims of fraud and related business torts.
- Helped brief multiple appeals in the Texas state Fourteenth Court of Appeals, resulting in favorable decisions for client in the financial sector, defeating claims of fraud and related business torts.
- Successfully represented Texas hospital system in contract dispute with technology contractors.
- Representing oil and gas company in contract dispute with operators.
- Filed pro bono amicus brief on behalf of religious organizations in a First Amendment case in the Eleventh Circuit.
