Overview
Shontel Stewart focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, internal investigations, and appeals. Shontel has significant experience managing discovery disputes, drafting dispositive motions, and preparing for all stages of trial. Shontel also regularly represents a wide range of financial services clients in both state and federal courts.
Shontel completed a clerkship with the Honorable Carl E. Stewart of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She also previously clerked for US Magistrate Judge Hope T. Cannon of the Northern District of Florida, and Justice Sarah H. Stewart of the Supreme Court of Alabama. During her clerkships, Shontel’s matters ranged from securities, class action and discovery, to statutory interpretation and civil rights.
While in law school, Shontel interned at the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Alabama, and for the Honorable Kenneth M. Hoyt of the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
