Overview
Ron Kendler focuses his practice on complex international trade matters, with a concentration in antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) proceedings before the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the US International Trade Commission (ITC). He has regularly represented clients in appeals from such matters before the US Court of International Trade and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and also has experience in disputes before World Trade Organization (WTO) panels and the Appellate Body.
Ron advises international and domestic companies across a broad range of industries on high‑stakes trade remedies investigations, cross‑border regulatory risks, and policy developments affecting global supply chains. He brings more than a decade of experience navigating multi‑jurisdictional trade disputes and helping manufacturers and industry coalitions manage parallel commercial and regulatory pressures.
Prior to joining Steptoe, Ron practiced in the Washington, DC and Geneva offices of an international law firm, where he represented corporate and sovereign clients in trade remedy proceedings, appellate litigation, and WTO disputes. Earlier in his career, he worked in the legal office of the International Air Transport Association in Geneva and interned for Chief Judge Donald C. Pogue at the US Court of International Trade.
Ron also maintains a robust pro bono practice, and has served as both a coach and a judge for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
