Overview
Ziyuan Hong focuses her practice on US economic sanctions, export controls, anti-money laundering compliance, and anti-corruption laws. She advises companies and individuals on navigating US sanctions and export control regulations, responding to government inquiries and investigations, and managing enforcement and compliance risk in complex cross‑border matters.
Zoey regularly assists clients in internal and cross‑border investigations, the design and implementation of sanctions and export‑control compliance programs, and regulatory compliance matters. Her experience includes representing clients in seeking removal from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)'s Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN List) and other US government blacklists, obtaining OFAC licenses, and preparing and filing voluntary self-disclosures. She also frequently advises on US sanctions and export control issues arising in transactions, investments, and ongoing operations throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Zoey also has experience in sanctions-related US civil litigation.
With professional experience spanning the United States and Asia-Pacific, and knowledge of both US and Chinese laws, Zoey brings a practical, cross-border perspective to compliance challenges facing multinational and Asia-region businesses. Her background includes conducting internal investigations at the investigation division of an international organization and advising Hong Kong‑listed companies on compliance issues at an international law firm.
