Overview
Alexander Dünkelsbühler advises on international economic law and EU law, with an emphasis on EU trade law, economic sanctions and export controls, customs, and WTO dispute settlement. He has also advised on investor-state disputes.
Before joining Steptoe, Alexander worked as a trainee attorney for a Magic Circle law firm in Germany, at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Trade in Brussels, and at the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations in New York. Alexander was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge’s Lauterpacht Centre for International Law and at Georgetown University Law Centre. His doctoral research at the University of Cologne focusses on economic sanctions and international investment and trade law.
