Overview
Ron Vogel focuses his practice on patent prosecution, intellectual property (IP) counseling, and litigation and post grant proceedings across a wide range of technologies, with a particular concentration in the life sciences.
Ron works with clients ranging from startups to Fortune-500 companies prosecuting patent applications in the U.S. and abroad. His transactional practice includes due diligence, licensing, technology transactions, opinions, and settlement agreements. He also works with IP litigation clients in pre-suit investigations, fact and expert discovery, claim construction, and motion practice in both federal district courts and the International Trade Commission.
Ron also has significant FDA regulatory experience dealing with the complex legal and regulatory issues facing clients at every stage of the product life cycle, including applications and submissions, exclusivities and patent term extensions, promotional issues, and post-marketing requirements.
Ron publishes regularly in the life sciences space, including co-authoring a chapter on biosimilars litigation in the recently-released book, “Biosimilars: Regulatory, Clinical, and Biopharmaceutical Development.” He has also written extensively on Hatch-Waxman-related topics, including the Section 271(e)(1) Safe Harbor, commercial stockpiling, and venue-specific considerations in Hatch-Waxman litigation.
Prior to his legal career, Ron worked as chemist in the consumer products industry and at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Ron has a Bachelor’s and Master’s in chemical engineering and expects to complete a second Master’s degree in immunology in 2022.
