Michael Scavelli focuses his practice primarily on commercial litigation, internal/government investigations, and white-collar criminal defense. He brings a diversity of substantive experience to each of his representations, along with strong project management skills and eDiscovery savvy.

Mr. Scavelli has significant experience handling high-stakes, complex litigations, including assisting clients facing concurrent regulatory and civil proceedings. In commercial litigation matters, Mr. Scavelli practices in both state and federal courts, representing clients in securities litigation, derivative litigation, and contractual disputes. In white-collar matters, Mr. Scavelli represents both corporations and individuals in a range of contexts, including internal investigations and criminal/regulatory proceedings at both the state and federal level.  

During law school, Mr. Scavelli served as a legal intern in the Narcotics and Immigration Units of the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York and in the chambers of the Hon. Colleen McMahon in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.  Before law school, Mr. Scavelli worked as a research associate in National Security Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.
